Yup, kids were sitting to close to the TV.
Plus children are a lot more prone to seizures than older people.
Its not even the kids fault all the way, the flashes were to bright and too fast. People should know that little children like to watch TV up close. You really cant call a 7 year old stupid, when they are just children =/

Although I didnt realise they were ALL 7 , I believed a good load were older however... It's true , kids will be prone to sit right infront of the television , but then again , parents shouldnt let them. Or should i say responsible parents shouldnt. I was always taught when i was younger , NOT to sit too close. Of course we all do it. So yea , no way should the episode have contained the amount of fast flashing moving objects as it did. But only so much can be blamed on the episode. Some has to be carried by the viewers aswell.

It didn't even give me a headache when I watched that episode. But it made me someway sad, when thought that the episode is totally banned and it will never air again. ^^;; Yeah, I know it's stupid. ^^;; ya they could just fix the effect that gave ppl the seizure n show it....maybe someday it will be put on dvd as a special missed episode..but of course they will fix that part first

I watched it and things went fine. My eyes hurt a tiny bit during the episode but nothing very bad will happen unless you have seizures. If you dont have seizures and you dont sit close to the screen then there should be no problem.

Younger than 7 or older. I was 6 or 7 at the time, so I use my-self as an example >< I only watch Pokemon now becuase I used to watch it if I was younger, if not I would be ignoring it. Not only that but almost all of the people who had seizures where children, not adults. I know most parents do tell you to sit away from the TV, but really, do most kids listen to that? I never sat in front of the TV like that, but a lot of children ignore what's best for them.

I didn't see the "We all do it part" sorry =P And yeah, though I think they should have aired the episode just with slower flashes and stuff.

I watched part of it on YouTube (with subs) ages ago and I didn't really think it was that great. I prefered The Legend of Dratini anyway.

You guys do know of a condition called epilepsy... right? I bet if I watched it with my brother (who has epilepsy) he'd get a seizure. That's probably what all the major cases were.

ya they could just fix the effect that gave ppl the seizure n show it....maybe someday it will be put on dvd as a special missed episode..but of course they will fix that part first No; it won't. The original master copy of that episode is locked in a safe in the japanese government's building. It was confiscated from nintendo as part of the punishment. And about blaming the episode, you can't, because it was going to happen anyways. If pokemon did not have that much of a strobe effect some other show would have included it eventually, and then awareness would have been raised. Now that it happened, we (the world) have learned our lesson and that much of a strobe effect won't be used in any show again, but it had to happen once first.

Does it really matter if a episode of any anime would give people seizures what about dragonball z almost every episode has flashes of light when they powerup or launch fireballs
