So!
Where on earth do I begin?
It's been what, 3 years since anyone last posted here? And 6/7 since this was an active forum.
It's crazy to see how much time I spent here all those years ago, reading back, the drama, the fun times, and talking to some of the biggest yahoo's on the planet. We certainly did have some fun didn't we?
Much older now, much wiser. I completely forgot about so many... er... "events", for lack of a better word, we had. I feel like a glance in my PM's from those days, re-reading some older threads, that I figured out half the stuff in these last 20 minutes over a late night, fat-free yoghurt than I did the prime of my internet-obssession days.
Seeing as how this isn't in any way, shape or form an even remotely active forum, infact it's quite literally the complete definition of a dead one, I don't think it's any issue to say that I'm quite thankfull that there was a discussion on the staffroom board, in which the topic of closing the board entirely or leaving it to vegitate arose. Now this was a little bit before my time as an Admin, but Bennyjr123 was in there. And he argued to keep it, let it run it's natural course. Coming back (on a random, whim of remembering that this place existed) and having a little chuckle has been a great finish to my day. I owe you a massive thank you for that.
So thank you!
You see, I think like most of you (well, at the very least the ones old enough to have been in active conversation back in the old days), my life is solely focussed around work. I work insane hours, my days are very long, and I take plenty of joy in the little things. Maybe it's a cup of coffee on a cold morning (Scotland hasn't got any warmer over these years!), a fresh pair of socks, or little easter eggs in videogames to bring a little smile to my face ( Yep, I'm still in the gaming biz!) , I love the small things, and the personal touches.
Gurlbots forum, this archive of many of our youths, I hope lives on forever.
Many people take lot's of photos to remember memories. Others write and record music for it. For me, I don't do ethier, honestly. For me, it's all about places like here where I find my memories of days gone by. I remembered for the first time in years, that I used to take part in creating Trainer Card sigs for users here. I remember skipping school, going into my local store, buying a bottle of Emerge Energy drink (disgusting stuff, but cheap), going back to the old flat/apartment I stayed in, laying on a hideous but insanely comfortable forest green sofa and making those cards.
I had forgotten about making those TC's.
I had forgotten about that sofa.
I had forgotten about that flat/apartment.
I had forgotten about Emerge.
But now I remember.
I hope everyone is well. I wouldnt have expected to see anyone on here in years but I know at least one person has swung by lately.
So Bennyjr123, how's thing's?
Not for that last time, I can garuntee :
