lolz well I thought that this should be a news post so that all new members could see where the board first came from and why it was created... Someone should start us a wikipedia page:p
The origin of this post comes from a recent news post where An admin had suggested that we put more security on the episode links then we already have, but then decided not to because it would be not what I would want, so this is what I posted as a response:
"I would still like to keep it open to everyone. That was the original idea. That was always what I wanted and tried to uphold. I originaly started uploading on youtube to help out a friend that was known as Ash Ketchum on this board.
Another friend of mine, known as yugiknight on here, had originally asked Ash if he could use his videos as links on a pokemon website such as www.yugiohfans.co.uk. Ash said he didnt want to get into legal trouble so no, but he could help him upload. When Yugi couldnt get a director`s account on Youtube, which at that time allowed a user to upload videos over 10min, he asked me to get an account and try to become a director and upload for him. I did and soon I found that I loved it. I got back into Pokemon and was so happy at how I was making others happy that when YouTube finally took down my videos I knew I couldnt stop. I knew I couldnt let the fans down so I started uploading behind the scenes and with some help from yugi, www.gurlbotspokemon.tripod.com was released, for the fans.
Soon after the new home of dailymotion started taking down videos I turned to Charizard2007 who helped me open a new site with our own server and we worked to have a new site. But since this was our own server, the threat of legal action due to copyright violation became a big problem in our minds. Thats why we password protected the site. But we made it so easy to get to from here because It was still for the fans and I wanted it to be for everyone. Then the trouble began...
The fans turned on me, exploiting the only rule that needed to be in place, with videos and posting going out with how to get into our site. The threat of copyright grew to an all time high and we had to shut down.
When i started uploading again, I had originally told the new staff that I wanted to password protect the videos with a post count restriction, and weekly changing passwords, but since this took away from my original plan and idea... I decided against it.
So now you know the history of the board and as I always say...
Happy watching!"
