I have always wondered how far ahead they are in episodes that are actually put on air. Like take Ho-Oh for example in the first episode of Pokemon. The Jhoto series would not start for another 118 episodes yet it still made an appearance. Right now do they already have the next two seasons of D/P created or even a fifth set?? Give me your estimate on how many episodes ahead they work.

I don;t think so. I think they just created that one randomly, and then when the johto topic came up they were like, "hey, lets make ho-oh and togepi johto pokemon."

I don't know honestly. Perhaps they already had another group of people working on the next generation of Pokémon while still airing the current series. Or that the next generation of Pokémon was completed in terms of an actual list that they were able to add a few storylines or appearances within the current series. Perhaps though, it wouldn't be hard for them to actually start more than a season or so in development considering how each saga is extremely to begin with. Get Ash to the finals with all eight badges within the region he's in. I actually dread that this series would last another 6-7 years of the same material. '
