How do you think the show is going? I mean, when it comes to plots and character development, do you think they're getting better with it or worse? Personally, I think they're getting better. They still have fillers but there keeping the boring ones to a minimum by bringing back characters over and over. (like zoey, and paul, and other boy witht he red hair. iono his name lol.) And even the fillers are getting interesting. Like, "the keystone pops," and "journey to the unknown."
As far as character development goes....well, it's getting better, but they're not at a great place yet. I mean, I really liked the whole Ash and paul thing. Like it's not the same "I hate you and you hate me," thing with ash and gary. Ash really just doesnt understand what's wrong with him, and things just keep building up, like with chimchar. As for Dawn, I think she's really annoying and they started off great with her and lost it kind of quickly. I do, however, like how they're making her lose. They're doing a good job of showing us that not all of their characters are perfect and great at what they do.
So what do you think? Better or worse? (please keep voice acting out of it)

In my strong opinion, worse! because things aren't really as good as it used to be, I know they're bringing old characters back and some interesting things have happened, but I think they're really twisting the whole storyline about. (if you've seen my last post you will understand what I'm talking about) Also there is a big thing going round the websites and forums that apparently in an interview with one of the people who work for Pokemon (I forget what he does, something to do with the storyboard) that Misty will NEVER return as a main character again! she will only be in a contest or something like that. This sucks........bad! I miss the old days....

I do agree that the old episodes were awesome and amazing, but the reason i didn't bring that up is because things change. And to tell you the truth I never expected misty to come back as a regular. I mean after 6 seasons it just didn't seem realistic anymore.
I guess my question is, what was it (not the characters) that they used to have in the show that they don't have anymore? Like what feelings/aspects or whatever has the show lost?

i think alot of what the older seasons had that the news ones dont so much, is the naivety. its almost like...ok we knows the script, so we carry it out.thats it.nothing more or less. the beauty of season 1 was ash didnt have a clue.but the had that drive.they were...well alot more immature.the characters and the show.more slapstick aswell.and i think thats alot of the beauty.its not gone now, but its certainly not as evident to me. im sure ther are other reasons also, but i want to get peoples thoughts on this first

Okay, I agree with you there too. But on the other hand, do they expect the new generation of viewers to start watching from the 10th season, or do they expect them to go back and buy the dvd's of the old episodes. In that case, I wonder what they would say was better. I mean, that's what counts right? The people who will be watching the show for the next couple seasons, like we used to when we were younger.

its the age old question isnt it. do wee try and keep our old fans happy, the ones who have been there from the begining? or do we change direction and focus on the new generation. thers no right or wrong answer i guess. but im assuming the pokemoin writers chose the latter in this case. i dont think they are doing the wrong thing tho.i think they are doing just fine.but , back to the question, i just prefer the old series for the reaosns i gave.

I have agree with warriorgaz19, nothing beats the original! In my opinion I think the original was better, there was alot of humour, jokes and puns. The new generation has humour in it too, but not as good as it was in the old series. I'm not saying the new generation is bad or anything, I don't hate the new generation I think its interesting because of new things like a new girl travelling with Ash and Brock (but I still miss Misty, again original) new Pokemon evolutions, I noticed they used more Pokemon in the second generation to evolve, also the new games are good aswell.
But do they really care about the old fans of Pokemon? I'm not quite sure, do they even know that the old fans still watch the show or play the games or do they think that we have all grown out of it? that's what I want to know, but they can't forget about the old fans!

I think they are doing better and worse.
Better because of all the new Pokemon they are introducing.
Bad because they still have the stupid "zomg team rocket", it's just annoying. If Team rocket has done this crap how many times now, why are you so surprised to see them? Also, when they capture a Pokemon, it's stupid how they go "yay we caught [name]", why can't they just go "awsome" instead of humping around. 1 other thing on that topic, it's sorta stupid how while the Pokemon is being captured, the camera shows everyone staring with a determined look on there face, Now in Diamond or any other game, when I capture a Pokemon I don't freak out. They really need to change that around.
As far as characters go, Dawn is annoying just like May was, a scared whiney brat, and then they have her brother, how old is he again? Anyway, it's dumb how they have the brother/sister war. Not all brothers/sisters act that way, and they shouldn't be doing that on Pokemon, as it could possibly encourage fighting with brother/sister.
